about

Like many people who research their family history, I have accumulated several boxes and external hard drives full of Broatch and Johnston genealogy information I’ve discovered over several years.

I realized pretty early on in my research that what keeps me motivated to persist in this detective work are the small stories about our ancestors that emerge regularly out of the piles of paper, artifacts, and photos. The choices they made and the risks they took to better their lives. Their successes and failures. Good times and tough times.

By definition, stories become stories when they are shared. So, with my sister Valerie taking on the technological and design challenges, and me providing the words and photos, we will start out with two or three story posts a month to our siblings and first cousins and see how it goes.

We welcome your comments, questions, and suggestions.

Enjoy!

Linda and Val
